Myles Patrick Hassett

Mediator ☘ Arbitrator

Having litigated civil cases of all kinds for over 38 years, Myles understands the value of a well-qualified neutral. With extensive trial and appellate experience — for both plaintiffs and defendants — he knows what it takes to get disputes resolved.

Biography

Born in Ireland, Myles Patrick Hassett grew up in a country mired in a violent, centuries-old sectarian conflict that cried out for reconciliation between the warring factions. When the conflict was finally resolved in 1998—with U.S. Senator George Mitchell as mediator—Myles was inspired to focus on mediation as way to successfully end litigation. Drawing on his unique experience, Myles says: “In over 30 years practicing law, I’ve learned there is no compromise of principle in the peaceful resolution of differences, only the knowledge that not all battles need be fought to a bitter end, and the hope that people can reconcile and rise above whatever conflict brought them to my door.”

Having been admitted to practice in Ireland in 1988, Myles moved to the United States, where he is first Irish solicitor licensed in both Arizona and California. Myles is also the founder of Acordia Dispute Resolution, a mediation/arbitration practice, and is a well-known author and speaker on insurance and dispute resolution issues. As your mediator, Myles is dedicated to applying principles of “Win-Win Resolution” to settle your case. See more at www.acordia-adr.com

Throughout his decades-long litigation career, Myles has served as a neutral in hundreds of cases. This includes serving as a Judge pro tempore for the Arizona Superior Court (Maricopa County) as a court-appointed arbitrator and settlement judge, as well as in his capacity as a private mediator. Myles adds: “Whether your case involves insurance, personal injury, wrongful death, commercial or professional liability issues, I believe I have the necessary skillset and experience to get it resolved.”

Myles has been awarded Martindale Hubbell’s highest peer-reviewed “AV” designation and is listed in Southwest Super Lawyers. In recognition for his decades of work as a trial advocate, Myles was elected as a member of the International Society of Barristers in 2020. He is also a member of the Arizona Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

In addition to his dispute resolution practice, Myles is passionate about Irish history, photography, and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
